Daily Fountain 2017 - Learn To Wait For God's Promise

Tuesday June 27

Bible Reading:     Gen. 21: 9 - 21
Topic:         Learn To Wait For God's Promise

Waiting for God to fulfill His promise is one of the hardest tasks the Christian can face in life.

Abraham failed the test when instead of waiting for God's promise that "Isaac shall your seed be called" (v. 12), Abraham listened to Sarah and had Ishmael. But Ishmael was not to be the covenant child. It was Isaac whom God had promised (v. 12; 21: 1,2)

The rebellion of Hagar  (Gen. 16: 5, 6) and her son Ishmael (Gen. 21: 9) led Abraham and Sarah with God's approval to cast Ishmael with his mother Hagar out of Abraham's household (v. 10)

A slave does not abide in the house forever but the son does (John 8: 35)

The bond woman and her son must be cast out. As painful and trying as it was for Abraham, the separation of Ishmael from Isaac led ultimately to God's manifestation of His covenant gift of Isaac to Abraham and Sarah/

The beautiful thing is that God did not fail to bless Ishmael too, although he was not the covenant child God promised Abraham (Gen. 17: 19 - 21)

Prayer
Help me O God to overcome the anxiety that easily besets me and makes me run ahead of Your plans and blessing for my life in Jesus Name, Amen.

Memory Verse             Gen. 21: 10
"Wherefore she (Sarah) said unto Abraham, cast out this bond woman and her son, for the son of this bond woman shall not be heir with my son, even Isaac."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
