Daily Fountain 2017 - Peter And John Arraigned Before The Sanhedrin

Saturday June 10

Bible Reading:     Acts 4: 1 - 14
Topic:         Peter And John Arraigned Before The Sanhedrin

Peter and John were arrested and brought before the Sanhedrin for engaging in teaching that had "greatly disturbed" some Jewish leaders especially the Sadducees, the teachers of the law, the Priests and others.

Peter and John spent a night in jail and were arraigned before the Jewish High Council - the Sanhedrin.

Remember that about 5000 men had believed in Peter's and John's teaching.

Standing before the Sanhedrin, those two unlearned men by Jewish standards were interrogated, intimidated and warned to stop preaching in the Name of Jesus Christ.

But the two declared fearlessly before the Sanhedrin that "Salvation is found in no one else for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" (v. 12)

These were men of conviction and were filled with boldness.

Against the Sanhedrin's charge not to speak or teach at all in the Name of Jesus Christ Peter and John replied "Judge for yourselves, whether it is right in God's Sight to obey you rather than God ... we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard" (vs. 19, 20)

Like these Apostles of old, you may be facing a similar threat where you are and may have been threatened with the risk of losing your life to stop preaching in Jesus' Name.

Let us learn from Peter's and John's zeal for the Lord that was so strong that we should never keep quiet when threatened.

Prayer
Father help me to stand my ground in and for You through all the changing scenes of my life, Amen.

Memory Verse             Acts 4: 10
"Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, Whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
