Daily Fountain 2017 - Suffer Only For Righteousness

Thursday June 15

Bible Reading:     1 Pet. 4: 12 - 19

Topic:         Suffer Only For Righteousness

The text today takes us into the very important subject of suffering for Christ after we have become Christians.

Apostle Peter discusses two kinds of suffering here:

1.      Suffering that is a trial of our faith - that is training us in god's spirituality, suffering for righteousness or being a Christian (v 14)

2.      Suffering for being a wrong doer (v 15)

Apostle Peter admonished that when a Christian suffers for being a Christian, he should count it great joy or be glad for this makes him a partner with Christ in suffering (v 13). It is a testimony to the life of Christ in him, and an earnest guarantee of the joy and glory reserved for him to share at the second coming of Christ.

Now, suffering according to the Will of God will mean training for promotion, upliftment and a closer walk with God.

If you are not suffering for the sin you have committed but for obeying God (v 14), you can be sure God's Spirit of glory is in you.

Suffering for Christ should be counted as a priviledge the Christian has. It is a means to purify and prepare him/her for a glorious future and eternity

Prayer

God, prepare me a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true, with thanksgiving as I have my fair share of suffering for Christ's Sake, Amen.

Memory Verse             1 Pet. 4: 17

"For the time has come that judgment must begin in the House of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the Gospel of God?."

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
