Bible Reading: 1 Pet. 4: 7 - 11
Topic: Use Your Gifts To Serve Excellently
Well In Life
Apostle Peter continued
his exhortation to the Christians he addressed, with a challenge to a Spirit filled
and Spirit led life of prayer and devotion to God and man.
They were to continue in
an unselfish, hospitable life in their homes and put every gift in their lives
- speaking, helping others and only others for the glory of God forever.
God's gifts to us - of
grace, love and truth - are for us to build one another in the faith.
The foundation for a
successful life of service is the Nature of God we have received.
By the fruit of the
Spirit, we are enabled to be like God in love, joy, peace, long suffering,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self control and gentleness.
This is the kind of life
Paul said against it "there is no law" (Gal. 5: 22 - 23)
Prayer
Lord, help me to use Your
gifts in my life to serve, to build others up in faith and service, Amen.
Memory Verse 1 Pet. 4: 10
"As every man hath
received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards
of the manifold grace of God."
