Daily Fountain 2017 - Love Not The World

Tuesday April 4

Bible Reading:     1 John 2: 15 - 23

Topic:         Love Not The World

John warns Christians not to love the world - that is the world system ruled and dominated by satan - because love of the world draws us away from God.

Love of the world involves:
lust of the flesh - which refers to sensual and sex related desires
lust of the eye - which includes every form of covetousness or things we like to possess for the gratification of the flesh
pride of life - which involves selfish ambitions for power, position, recognition e.t.c.

This does not mean that a Christian cannot desire good things which our Father in Heaven provides for us (Jas. 1: 17); problems arise when we as in order to gratify the flesh (Jas. 4: 3-4) - e.g. when one adds to his fleet of cars just to rival his neighbour or join a social class.

Lusting after the things of the world draws our hearts away from God, because the more we love them, the less we love God.

It is not possible to love God with our whole heart while craving the values of the world.

Christians are to change the world through the preaching of the Gospel rather than live to enjoy its values.

We are strangers not part of the world and its systems (1 Pet. 2: 11)

Prayer:
Father in Heaven, thank You for Your Word which has come forth today. Help me to always remember that the world and all that there are in it will pass away some day but Your Word shall endure, I pray in Jesus Name, Amen.

Memory verse:   1 John 2: 14
"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life is not of the Father but is of the world"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
