Daily Fountain 2017 - Second Chance

Tuesday April 25
St. Mark's Day

Bible Reading:     Acts 15: 36 - 41

Topic:         Second Chance

Paul and Barnabas parted ways over John Mark because he deserted them during the first Missionary Journey (Acts 13: 13)

The decision of Paul not to include him and Barnabas' opposition brought about a sharp division with Barnabas parting ways with Paul and taking John Mark with him.

Paul thought that Mark could not be trusted again while Barnabas felt that he needed to be given a second chance.

Mark was to prove so faithful and dependable that is his last epistle, Paul told Timothy ". . . . . Get Mark and bring him to me for he is very useful to me in the Ministry" (2 Tim. 4: 11)

Barnabas saw something in John Mark which Paul did not see - a mighty soldier in the making - that Paul would later recognize (Col. 4: 10)

There is always the need to uphold the weak and be patient with all. The weak today may be the strength of the Church tomorrow.

So encourage all to grow in the service of the Lord.
"Better is the end of a thing that the beginning thereof" (Ecc. 7: 8)

For you as a child of God, success is measured by how you finish and not how you started, so don't give up

Prayer:

Father in Heaven, thank You for Your Grace in my life. Please help me to be a source of encouragement to someone today for I pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ my Lord, Amen

Memory Verse:   Acts 15: 39

"And the contention was so sharp between them that they departed asunder one from the other and so Barnabas took Mark and sailed unto Cyprus"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
