Daily Fountain 2017 - That You Do Not Sin

Monday April 3

Bible Reading:     1 John 2: 1 - 14

Topic:         That You Do Not Sin

In today's text, the emphasis is not on "not committing" sin.

Christians in time of weakness my commit sin against God.

What John is warning about is the possibility of allowing an act of sin to become a habit of life or one refusing to repent of an act of sin by not confessing such to God.

Sin is forgiven on condition of humble confession and determination to turn away from it.

This is because Jesus your Advocate, is ever ready to plead with God on your behalf.

However when sin becomes a habitual pattern of life, then fellowship with God is bound to be broken.

For a Christian to continue in fellowship with God, John gives the following tips:
(a)     keep God's commandments (vs. 3 - 5)
This entails constant studying of the Scriptures to know the Will of God and how to respond to them in a godly manner

(b)     Walk even as Christ walked (v. 6)
This means, sharing His values and emulating them. It is asking "What would Christ do in this situation?" and doing the same

(c)     Love of the brethren (vs. 9 - 10)
This is not only loving the brethren as you love yourself but as Christ loved you and died for you

Prayer:
Father, please give me power every hour to be in true fellowship with you, Amen.

Memory verse:   1 John 2: 11
"But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness and knoweth not whither he goeth because that darkness hath blinded his eye"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
