Daily Fountain 2017 - The Resurrection Of The Dead

Saturday April 29

Bible Reading:     1 Cor. 15: 12 - 19

Topic:         The Resurrection Of The Dead

A very important part of the Apostles/Nicene Creed which are part of our Anglican Liturgy is our belief in the resurrection of the dead.

We believe this because Jesus said it (John 5: 28 - 29); 11: 25 - 26) and Paul taught it as a central theme of our faith.

Jesus became the First of those to be raised never to die again. Paul was upset that some fake teachers in Corinth taught that there is no other resurrection of the dead.

In our text today, Paul argues that
1.      If there's no resurrection of the dead, then Jesus was not raised and we are still in our sins
2.      If Jesus did not rise, then the foundation of our faith and preaching is baseless and those who attested to the resurrection of Christ are liars; therefore Christianity and its boast in a Living Master is false
3.      Those who died in Christ and in hope of the resurrection are lost forever
4.      If all we get from being Christians is a little inspiration for a few short years, then we of all men most to be pitied.

Thank God, this is not so!

Resurrection of the dead is real, Jesus demonstrated it and the Church is standing on this sure foundation of the Risen Christ

Prayer:

Lord, thank You because Resurrection of the dead is real, Amen

Memory Verse:   1 Cor. 15: 19

"If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
