Daily Fountain 2017 - Love: The Identity Of God's Family

Friday April 7

Bible Reading:     1 John 3: 10 - 15

Topic:         Love: The Identity Of God's Family

When a baby is born into a family, people are eager to know who of the father or mother s/he resembles.

The baby may have some features of the mother and father in different proportions but it will be strange there is nothing in the physical, emotional or moral make-up of the child that reflects his or her parents in birth or upbringing.

In our reading today, believers are seen as members of one family - the Family of God.

As a member of God's Family, you are expected to carry your Father's identity which is love and extend this love to the brethren.

John takes it further
a.       Love for one another should be the first lesson a child of God should learn (v. 11)
b.      You should love a brother even if he is preferred above you in position or reckoning (v. 12)
c.       Your brotherly love can bring alienation and persecution from the world (vs. 13 - 14)

However we also need to heed the warning "Whoever hates his brother is a murderer and no murderer has eternal life abiding in him" (v. 15)

Jesus said the world would know we are His if we love one another (John 13: 35)

Therefore love for the brethren is your Sonship identity

Prayer:
Father let Your Love always shine through me, Amen

Memory verse:   1 John 3: 15

"Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
