Daily Fountain 2017 - Woe Unto You Hypocrites

Wednesday April 12
Holy Wednesday

Bible Reading:     Matt. 23: 27 - 39

Topic:         Woe Unto You Hypocrites

Jesus in the last week of His Earthly Ministry vehemently rebuked the Scribes and Pharisees for their ostentatious religiosity and self-righteous pride.

These were Israel's most respected and oppressive religious leaders.

They make a show of all their religious activities and interacted only among themselves as they consider others to be sinners.

They were the greatest critics of Jesus

Our passage today is the pronouncement of a series of woes which is our Lord's indictment of the Scribes and the Pharisees for their hypocrisy.

Vs 37 - 39 is our Lord's lamentation as a sincere expression of His love for Jerusalem (the Nation of Israel) and His grief over the many opportunities for salvation that were thrown away.

The Nation has been guilty of repeated crimes against God in rejecting and killing God's messengers; she would be destroyed and left desolate.

She will not see Christ again until His second coming.

We are to open up to the Holy Spirit to purge us of arrogance and judgemental spirit and serve God in sincerity and humility.

Prayer:

Precious Jesus, thank You for the sacrifice on the Cross that made me whole again, Amen

Memory verse:   Matt. 23 : 39

"For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth till you shall say Blessed is He that cometh in the Name of the Lord"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
