Daily Fountain 2017 - This Is My Body

Thursday April 13
Maundy Thursday

Bible Reading:     Matt. 26: 17 - 29

Topic:         This Is My Body

Jesus last meal with His Disciples occurs in the last week of His life, immediately preceding His arrest and crucifixion.

The substance of what the Passover foreshadowed has come.

The Passover was celebrated in commemoration of their ancestral exodus from Egypt.

In our passage today, Jesus takes the bread and wine and gave thanks according to Jewish practice and then He redefined their significance and made the Disciples to partake.

In the setting of the Church, the re-enactment of this ritual is what we know as the Lord's Supper - Holy Communion or the Eucharist. The breaking and distributing of the bread act out what Jesus is doing with His Body for the sake of others.

It is in this sense that the Eucharist service is regarded as the highest service of the Church.

Henceforth man can be fully restored to God by this once and for all times sacrifice.

The Holy Communion replaces the Passover feast as an established and internal bond by the Blood of Jesus.

As we partake in this mystery in our individual local Churches, let us be mindful of what this rite signifies, giving glory to God all the time.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, help me to live a life of thankfulness all the time, Amen

Memory verse:   Matt. 26 : 24

"The Son of Man goeth as it is written of Him; but woe unto that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born"

Daily Fountain 2017 - It Is To Your Advantage

Sunday May 21 5th Sunday After Easter Bible Reading:      John 16: 5 - 22 Topic:          It Is To Your Advantage In life we must be ready to endure some level of discomfort in the present, in order to enjoy comfort in the future. The disciples had become comfortable with the presence and involvement of Jesus in their lives, but Jesus announced to them that it was necessary for Him to return to His Father in order that the Holy Ghost might come. If Jesus stayed, He would be only in one place at a time; but His Spirit would be everywhere at the same time. The disciples had to recognize therefore that growth and maturity come with sacrifice which involves willingness to step out of our comfort zone. God knows the best for you. Be sensitive to the leading of His Spirit. Desire progress but don't reject the change that brings it. Yes, you may be in an uncomfortable sit...

Daily Fountain 2017 - 2310 - Building Out Of Ruins

Monday October 23 Bible Reading:     Acts. 15: 12 - 22 Topic:                  Building Out Of Ruins When you pass by a collapsed building, what comes to your mind? When you see a place devastated by war, what strikes you? Ruin, lots of ruins! dashed irrecoverable hope, you lament on what it used to be, when it was standing previously. God can change ruins and rebuild from new edifices. This is how God deals with our lives when it appears we have been ruined. We should not remain in the ruins around us, but on to God and allow Him to come and rebuild them for us and others. Prayer Lord, let me know how to make a building out of ruins. May I not be steeped in failed traditions to the detriment of revival in Jesus Name, Amen. Memory Verse             Acts. 15:...
